Charles was born March 7, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of Kenneth E. and Imogene Schrum Yocum.

He was a 1965 graduate of Austintown High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force; after serving for four years he was honorably discharged, a proud veteran with the rank of SSGT.

Bud will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife of 47 years, the former Joyce A. He also leaves his siblings, Rod (Patti Jo) Yocum of Columbiana and Norman (Evelyn) Yocum of Greenford; brother-in-law, Bill Wasylko of Los Angeles, California; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many great friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Philip Yocum.

Private services with family members will be held at a later date when Bud is laid to rest in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Valley and Hospice House for their outstanding compassion, care and support. They also want to thank RN Lisa White of the Youngstown VA for her love and kindness the last seven years as the advocate for Bud.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bud’s memory to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
