Phillip E. Kilbourne Sr. 1938-2024

Together again

McDONALD — Phillip E. Kilbourne Sr. passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at The Cleveland Clinic, with family by his side.

Phillip was born October 9, 1938, at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland, a son of Stanley Patrick and Anna Mae Kilbourne.

He moved to McDonald at a young age. He was a 1957 graduate of McDonald High School, where he excelled in football and track, and went on to enlist in the Army Reserve. He proudly served his country in the reserves for eight years.

He worked as a crane man for 54 years at Warren Republic Steel and all their entities until they closed.

He was a member of McDonald Baptist Church.

Phil was a man of faith, family and friends. His favorite day of the year was hosting Christmas Eve with his beloved Sally. He will be remembered for knowing all the details of every story he shared with loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally; son, Kenneth M. Stevens; son-in-law, Tom Batson; and brother, Timothy S. Kilbourne.

He will be remembered by sons, Phillip Kilbourne Jr., Stanley Kilbourne, Jeff (Judy) Stevens, Shawn (JoAnn) Stevens and Edwin Stevens; grandchildren, Jeff (Tara) Stevens Jr., Kristy Stevens, Shannon (Nate) Shick, Missy Mohn, Jessica (Alex) Sampson and Tyler (Julie) Kilbourne; and great-grandchildren, Maddie and Tyler Stevens; Ayden Nagy; Raegon and Collen Shick; Dominic, Shawn and Mia Sampson; and Kaiden, Karson and Kynlee Poole.

Arrangements were entrusted to Blackstone Funeral Home, where services were held Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Phil was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
