LaVerne Luther 1939-2024

LaVerne was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Sharpsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Kathryn Jennings-Davenport.

She graduated from Sharpsville High School in Pennsylvania and moved to the Youngstown area in the 1950s.

LaVerne was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister.

LaVerne is survived by two children, James F. Luther of Poland and Janice L. (Ed) Ruscitti of Struthers; and her brother, Charles Mitchell.

Besides her mother, Kathryn, LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred L. Luther, whom she married July 21, 1962, and died June 21, 2018; an infant daughter, Tracey Lynn Luther; and a brother, Robert Mitchell.

Per the family’s request, there will be no calling hours or services. Interment will take place in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
