Joseph E. Thomas Jr. 1942-2024

Joseph was born in 1942, in Youngstown, the first of two sons of Joseph and Margret Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, to whom he was married for over 53 years; his brother, Jeffery; his eldest daughter, Heather; and youngest son, David.

Joseph was predeceased by his second daughter, Sharon, who died from cancer in 2020.

Joseph graduated from Struthers High School, followed by Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He also served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve and obtained his Master’s of Business from Ashland University.

Joseph’s careers included engineering, driving, operations, computing, insurance, real estate and teaching. These careers allowed for him to experience living in Ohio, West Virginia, Chicago, Indiana and North Carolina.
