George W. Street III 1947-2024

DIAMOND — George W. Street III, 76, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024, at his residence. He was born in East Liverpool, on July 2, 1947, the son of the late George W. Jr. and Wilma M. Peterson Street.

At the age of 17, George enlisted in the military, where he served in the Army from 1964 until 1967. Due to his enlisting during high school, George received his diploma with the class of 2017. After service to our country, he married the love of his life, the former Joyce Diane Jones, on Sept. 21, 1968. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage.

George worked at Denman Tire for 25 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Summit Assembly of God Church. He was past chaplain of American Legion Post 737 of Lake Milton for 25 years and a life member of the post.

Surviving George are his wife, Joyce and their children: a daughter, Ginger (Todd) Piroch of Bowling Green, Kentucky; three sons, George Street IV of Diamond, Jeffery (Heather) Street of Youngstown and Jerome Street of North Jackson; three sisters; Shirley Hill of Girard, Sandra (James) Thompson of Newton Falls and Dorothy Rovder of Lake Milton; 10 grandchildren, Bryce, Des, Amber, Nick, Christian, T.J., Beckie, Eli, Rachel and Natty; and two great-grandchildren, Milo and Roy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at James Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Lavelle officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of service. Burial will take place in Palmyra – West Cemetery immediately following the service at the funeral home.

The family has asked that donations be made to the American Legion Post 737 Honor Guard, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, OH 44429.
