David J. Durda 1942-2024

Mr. Durda was born June 11, 1942, a son of the late Julius C. and Rose A. Hoffer Durda. David was a 1960 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. He later went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.

He married his wife, the former Alice Babyak, on Sept. 12, 1964, and together they would share nearly 60 years of marriage and raise two children.

David was a licensed barber and later worked at General Motors Lordstown for 30 years.

In his free time, Dave enjoyed golfing, watching the Cleveland Browns and Guardians, and truly loved the time he spent in Myrtle Beach, whether with his entire family or with Alice.

He leaves behind his wife, Alice; children, David D. (Stacy) Durda and Amy (Jeff) Cleer; grandchildren, Arianna Martinelli, David P. Durda, Madison Martinelli, Chloe Durda and Danielle (Steve) Belus; great-grandchildren, Janessa, Brielle and Shayleigh; siblings, Margaret (Al) Sams and Michael (Robbin) Durda; and sister-in-law, Carole Babyak.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Lane; sister-in-law, Sylvia Bucci; and brother-in-law, Douglas Babyak.

In keeping with David’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
