Anthony J. Liguore Jr. 1945-2024

BOARDMAN — Anthony Joseph “Joe” Liguore Jr., 78, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, while wintering in Fort Myers, Florida.

He was born June 9, 1945 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the son of Anthony Joseph Sr. and Alice Keim Liguore.

Tony was a 1963 graduate of Garfield High School and then earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in mathematics and computer science.

Tony had a lifelong career in computer science and was a project manager with West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., as well as at IBM.

He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church.

He enjoyed being a snowbird for the winters in Florida with his partner, Peggy, and was an avid golfer. He was an active participant in The Wolves Club of Youngstown events over the years.

Tony leaves behind his two daughters, Carla (David) Gerberry of Cincinnati and Gina (Alan) Cribb of Columbus; his five grandchildren, Fiona, Charlie, Vincent, Chloe and Penelope; his brother, Dr. Lawrence (Rose) Liguore; and his longtime partner, Peggy Morley; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Carmen Victor Liguore.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, in the chapel of St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, where a memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with the Very Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw J.C.L., V.G. as celebrant.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
