Kay A. Campbell 1940-2023
EAST PALESTINE — Kay Ann Campbell, 83, a longtime East Palestine resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehab, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kay was born May 31, 1940, in Salem, daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary J. Anderson Beight.
She worked at Kingwood Pottery for a number of years, but was most proud when she worked as a homemaker, taking care of her family.
She was a Lutheran by faith and enjoyed gardening, flowers, country music and had a great sense of humor and nice group of friends. She loved her cats, Baby Boo, Sweetie and Patches, and her golden granddogs, Daisy, Jax and Winston.
Kay is survived by a son, Steven R. (Maretta) Campbell of Ellwood City, Pa.; two daughters, Marcia Campbell of Salem and Brenda Campbell of Cuyahoga Falls; two brothers, Gerald E. Beight of Struthers and Bejamin H. Beight of Cleveland; as well as four grandchildren, Dustin, Matthew, Cody and Steven; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Campbell in 1983; a son, James Campbell Jr. in 1997; and a sister, Patricia Gillis in 2015.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. A private burial will be held in East Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
