Ellenora Demidovich 1943-2023
RALEIGH, N.C. –Ms. Ellenora “Cookie” Demidovich, 80, quietly departed in her sleep, Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, in Raleigh, where she had been living the past five years.
The daughter of the late Agnes and Chuck Stephens, Cookie was born April 2, 1943, in Youngstown. Cookie grew up on the South Side, attended Wilson High School and moved to Liberty Township, where she raised her children.
From a young adult, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and enjoyed spiritual support from St. Edward Parish, The Newman Center, St. Rose Parish and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.
Cookie worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital as a registered psychiatric nurse for over 25 years.
Cookie retired to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and lived near her sister, Nancy Peelman; and her brother, Charles Stephens.
Cookie joined her late daughter, Mary Demidovich, in heaven, on Mary’s birthday, a special day as Mary and Cookie spent their entire lives living together.
Cookie’s beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her surviving children, Dr. Mark Demidovich (Slippery Rock, Pa.), William Demidovich (Canfield) and Attorney Brian Demidovich (Raleigh, North Carolina); and seven grandchildren.
