Robert L. Whittaker Sr. 1957-2023

“Bob,” as he was known by everyone, was born in Warren, Dec. 15, 1957, the son of Bruce and Lillian Tartar Whittaker, and lived in this area all his life.

Bob was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and of the Baptist faith. He previously attended Evansville Baptist Church. He was a bus driver and most recently a custodian for the Weathersfield School System, with over 20 years of faithful service.

He had a special love for his ‘CUDA car and Harley-Davidson motorcycle, along with his dog, Wolfie.

Bob is survived by two sons, Robert Lee “Bobby” (Lesley) Whittaker Jr. of Tomball, Texas and Shawn (Heather) Whittaker of Champion; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Gross of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Cindy Ambrose; two brothers, Donald Whittaker and Kenneth Whittaker; and sister, Patricia Schmidt.

At Bob’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Bob’s family and friends are invited for a celebration of his life at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at the Ice House Inn, 5516 W. Webb Road, Austintown.

He will be buried privately with his family in Pineview Memorial Park.
