Nancy J. Wood 1937-2023

She was born on Jan. 27, 1937, in Warren, the daughter of the Rev. Paul H. and Rebecca E. Seiple Winyard.

She was a 1955 graduate of Howland High School and worked at Packard Electric for a short time. She was a homemaker and was active with her sons’ activities at the Warren YMCA where everyone knew her as a second mother.

Nancy Jo enjoyed woodcarving, painting and playing bingo at the Niles Senior Center (SCOPE) where she also was a volunteer for many years. For many years, she and Bill enjoyed going to auctions.

Nancy Jo is survived by her husband and the love of his life for 66 years, Clarence W. “Bill” Wood whom she married on June 8, 1957; two sons, Robert A. (Laura) Wood of Medina, John A. (Michelle) Wood of Cleveland; granddaughter, Melissa (Jimmy) McCoy of Medina; two great grandchildren, Adalyne Grace McCoy, Kaden Ryder McCoy; grandson in law Ben Chronister of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle Chronister; brother, Charles Winyard; three sisters, Margaret Harding, Betty Taneri and Elva.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
