WHAT: Commissioners meeting Wednesday

The commissioners:
•Approved advertising a public hearing to outline a planned $317,645.90 storm drainage infrastructure project for Frederick Street in Liberty. The public hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 14 at the Liberty Township Administration Building, 1315 Churchill Hubbard Road. The Trumbull County Planning Commission is seeking a competitive grant through the 2026 Community Development Block Grant program to obtain funds for the work.
• Approved awarding $71,000 to United Contractors Inc. of Vienna for the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office evidence room upgrade, 150 High St., Warren.
•Appointed Jason R. Lee as Trumbull County apiary inspector during 2026. He will be paid $12 per hour, not to exceed $1,500, as well as being reimbursed for mileage.
•Appointed Rashaan Dykes, Giuan Carlo DiPaolo, Ryan Hovis, Madelyn Sloan and Christopher Holliday as eligibility referral specialists II with the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services at $21.69 per hour.
•Approved purchasing four fully equipped Ford Explorer K-9 vehicles from Statewide Ford, 1108 W. Main St., Van Wert, for $283,916.
•Approved the purchase of a 2025 Caterpillar 938 Wheel Loader from Ohio Cat, 3993 E. Royalton Road, Broadview Heights, for $269,166.
•Approved the hiring of A & E Roofing, 182 Third St., West Farmington, for roof replacement at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds Administration Building, 899 Everett Hull Road, Bazetta, for $22,600.
•Approved the establishment of the Trumbull County Surplus Personal Property Donation Program under which the county will be able to donate obsolete, unneeded and no longer suitable property to nonprofit organizations.
•Approved the hiring of Stephanie Spagnoletta to become a utility clerk at the Trumbull County Engineers Office at $16.92 per hour.
•Approved the purchase of a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax LS from Diane Sauer Chevrolet, 700 Niles Road, for use by the Northeast Ohio Community Alternative Program, NEOCAP, staff at a cost of $18,915. The vehicle will be purchased using NEOCAP CBCF funds.
•Approved awarding grass cutting contracts to AJ&A Snow removal and Lawn Care of Youngstown, Zarlinski Landscape LLC of Brookfield, 3JD Lawn Care Services of Cortland and Angels At Work Home Health of Girard. The companies will provide grass cutting services for residents in the Senior Lawn Mow Service for the seniors signed up under the Trumbull County Senior Levy. Lawn mowing areas are limited to city-size lots of approximately 7,000 square feet.
