Carol J. Knowlton 1942-2023

NEWTON FALLS — Carol J. Knowlton, 81, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren.

She was born May 18, 1942, in Warren, the daughter of the late Charles F. Fenton and Zella V. Gardner Fenton. Carol married the love of her life, Charles Edward Knowlton, on Aug. 24, 1958, and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage together.

She and Charles have lived in Newton Falls for over 40 years, and were formerly of Berlin Township.

Carol enjoyed being a homemaker / housewife and raising their five children. She also loved cooking, baking, dancing and traveling with her husband.

Carol was a faithful member of Newton Falls First Church of God, where she was a prayer warrior for all people, and doing the funeral luncheons for families after funerals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles R. Knowlton and John Knowlton; one sister, Edna Sevier; and two brothers, Glenn Fenton and Charles Fenton Jr.

Carol is survived by her husband, Charles E. Knowlton of Newton Falls; one daughter, Tammy and Brett VanArsdale of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sons, David and Shari Knowlton of Warren, and Daniel and Joy Knowlton of Warren; one sister, Patricia Hudnell of Warren; eight grandchildren, Jessica Greathouse, Daniel Scott, Alaina Scott, Megan Knowlton, Ashley Johnson, Tina Duncan, Brandi Bohazi and Caitlyn Knowlton; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Newton Falls First Church of God, with Pastor Jennifer Dorn officiating. Calling hours will be two hours prior to service time, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Carol will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery.
