Margaret A. Lallo 1938-2022

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — Margaret Ann “Peggy” Lallo, 83, died on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Shell Point Connected Living.

Born on Dec. 30, 1938, in Sharpsville, Pa., Peggy’s family moved to Burghill when she was an infant. She resided in the Youngstown area for more than 40 years and was a graduate of Vernon High School in 1956. She was also an active member of the Youngstown Maennerchor, where she made many lifelong friends.

Peggy was a licensed practical nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 25 years and proudly identified as a caregiver for the rest of her life. She later would become a volunteer at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers after her retirement.

In 1983, she moved to Fort Myers with her husband, Pete, where they founded Pete’s Time Out, which has become a mainstay on Times Square at Fort Myers Beach for nearly 40 years and is currently owned by their son, John and his wife, Debbie.

Peggy’s hobbies were sewing and knitting. She made clothes for her grandchildren (with matching doll outfits) and was known for her sock monkeys, which she learned and took over making from her mother, Esther. Peggy and Pete also loved to travel and were particularly fond of visiting Pete’s homeland of Germany.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Pete Lallo Sr.; her brothers, John and George Martin; and her parents, Guy and Esther Martin.

She is survived by her sons, David (Annie) Carter, Peter Lallo Jr., Rick (Karen) Carter and John (Debbie) Lallo; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be observed by her immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Peggy’s memory may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, hopehospice.org/donate.
