John R. Rogers 1937-2022

He was born and raised in Youngstown, where he graduated from South High School and was a resident of Tallmadge since 1975.

He served as a sergeant in the Army Reserve. John and Donna established, owned and operated Home Appliance Parts in Akron for 45 years, a thriving business where he was well-known to be among the most knowledgeable in the industry.

John was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 58 years, Donna Mills Rogers, whom he desperately missed every day since her passing in 2018; parents, Ida Hallwood and Charles Rogers; sister, Gretchen Wesolowski (Robert); and brother, Ron Rogers (Dottie); sisters-in-law, Sally (Spike) Crawford and Betty Baraducci; and brother-in-law, Robert (Connie) Mills.

John is survived by and lives in the hearts of his loving children, John and Linda (Rick) Gray; and his grandchildren and “best friends,” Sam and Carter Gray, who were the absolute joy of his life. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

John was blessed to have wonderful friends through his business as well as lifelong friends that he genuinely cherished. John was respected and admired by all he encountered and was known by all to be caring, quick-witted and generous.
