Maureen E. Klucher 1939-2022
MEDINA — Maureen Elizabeth Klucher, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
Maureen was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Youngstown, to William and Helen Denehy Donahue. She attended St. Dominic’s school, Ursuline High School and received her registered nursing degree from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. She married Thomas Klucher in 1960. They were happily married for 61 years.
Maureen loved people and was a kind and compassionate person. She began her nursing career in 1959 at The Cleveland Clinic. After taking time off to start her family, she returned to nursing in 1973 at Medina Community Hospital. She made many friends during her career and was well respected by the doctors, nurses and patients. She retired in 1997.
Maureen enjoyed playing bridge with several groups of close friends and loved planning and coordinating the annual family vacation to the beach with her large, extended family. These trips created long-lasting memories and close family bonds. Maureen and Tom adventured to Europe many times enjoying the food, wine and customs of each new destination. When not planning excursions to new places, she always planned regular trips to visit each of her children and grandkids, cooking and baking up a storm while there.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her three children, Michael (Jill) Klucher of Austin, Texas, Kevin (Yang) Klucher of San Mateo, Calif. and Karen (John) McCann of Alpine, Calif.; her three grandchildren, Matthew Klucher, Sean McCann and Collin McCann; her siblings, Rosemary (Tim-deceased) Moore, William (Patti) Donahue and Gregory (Barbara) Donahue; and many loved ones from her extended family.
A Mass will be held in Youngstown, where she will be interned in Calvary Cemetery. Private funeral details are being arranged by Waite and Son Funeral Homes of Medina.
