Joseph A. W. Fussell 1954-2021

YOUNGSTOWN — Elder Joseph Andrew Walton Fussell, 66, known to his family and friends as “Pee Wee,” departed this life Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Elder Fussell was born Dec. 24, 1954, to Carmilla and Jesse Fussell Sr. in Cleveland. He settled in Youngstown in 1986 and was employed as a supervisor with General Motors, retiring in 2016 after 42 years of service.

Joseph was a kind and loving father who loved camping and cooking for his family. He was an avid truck driver and loved sports cars, which always had gospel music for all to hear. Joseph loved life and lived his life the way he wanted, enjoying his family and friends.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 14 years, Tamika Nicole Fussell; his wonderful children, Joseph Fussell Jr., Jovan Fussell, Maurice Fussell, Raysean Fussell, Noah Fussell, Craig Freeman, Amire and Kize Loury, Sophrenia Fussell, Nicole Fussell, Carmilla Fussell and Cherish ‘Me Fussell; his siblings, Grady Anthony Fussell, Richard Seers Fussell and Judith Earlene Fussell; a host of grandchildren; and other relatives and dear friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest brother, Jesse Fussell Jr.; and his nephew, Jermain Fussell.

A homegoing celebration will be held Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave. in Youngstown. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Jaylex.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Bedford, Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.
