James E. Smith Jr., 1957-2020

James was born Aug. 17, 1957, in Youngstown, to Sallie Mae and James E. Smith Sr. , who both preceded him in death.

He leaves his brother, Paul (Terry) Smith of Youngstown; sisters, Sara Flores of Youngstown and Barbara (William) Smith-Dyson of Long Beach, Calif.

He had three children, Michelle Cross, who preceded him in death, James Robert Christian of Columbia, S.C. and James E. Smith III of Long Beach, Calif. He also leaves nine grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

James worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for nine years before moving to California, where he lived for 33 years. After retiring from Skagg House Inc., he returned to Youngstown three years ago.

There will be a celebration of his life in the near future.
