James Moorhead 1956-2020

HOUSTON — James “Jimmy” Moorhead, 64, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 16, 2020.

Jimmy was born Oct. 3, 1956, at North Side Hospital in Youngstown, the son of Robert E. Moorhead (deceased) and Lois Jean Riddle Moorhead.

Jimmy was a “jack of all trades” and could fix anything — including cars. He was a carpet installer in his younger years and then became a manager for an apartment complex until his retirement. He loved his yard and spent hours outside “piddling.” He loved his family and grandchildren and would do anything for them, including washing their clothes. After retiring, Jimmy became a crazy cat man and would take care of all the strays. He loved animals.

He leaves his beautiful wife, Jody Betke Moorhead, whom he married May 7, 1977; and two children, Teleste and Adam Moorhead; along with five beautiful grandchildren, Alexis and Clarissa Franklin, and Michael, Ethan and David Moorhead, all of Houston. Additionally, he leaves his sister, Susanne (Howard) Hallas, and his twin brother, Jeffrey (Michelle) Moorhead, all of Poland. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Moorhead.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, in Houston.
