Carol M. Poole 1932-2020
GALVESTON, Texas — God called Carol Marilyn Poole home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, to be reunited in heaven with her husband and all her family members who have gone before her.
Carol was born July 17, 1932, in Cincinnati, to Naldo and Florence Davey. Carol was the oldest of eight children. She graduated from Girard High School and then entered the U.S. Army. She proudly served as a WAC for two years. During her time in the Army, she met her husband Bill. They married in 1952 and raised a family of five children together.
She will be greatly missed by her five children, Julie Cullifer (Greg) of Sanford, N.C., Tom Poole (Peggy) of Youngstown, Joe Poole (Bernadine) of Wartburg, Tenn., Connie Zuiss (Steve) of Wichita, Kan., and Jo Ann Root (Paul) of Galveston, Texas; and all of her 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She so loved her grandchildren.
Carol was known for her ability to create the most amazing meals, especially during the holidays. She always did her best to provide a wonderful Chirstmas not only for her own children but also her extended family.
She enjoyed gardening and volunteering at the VA clinic. She was an active member of the Longview WAVES chapter for retired women veterans.
A private family graveside will be held for Carol at Rosewood Park in Longview, Texas.
