Joan M. Funaro 1938-2020

Joan was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of James and Agnes Knight Stevens.

She was a member of Girard First United Methodist Church and a member and officer of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Lodge. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading and puzzles.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Ralph J. Funaro, whom she married Feb. 15, 1969; her children, Randy O’Neill of Girard, Peggy Hughlett of Girard, Terry O’Neill of Girard, Joe O’Neill of Girard, Beth Cajen of Tennessee, Michele Funaro of Girard, Lori Funaro of Girard, Cathy Huff of McDonald and Ralph (Tracey) Funaro of Girard; her sister, Pat Geho of Austintown; brothers, Kenny Stevens of Howland, Ron Stevens of Sandusky, Ted Stevens of Florida and John Stevens of Niles; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, James Stevens; and sister, Rosemary Geho.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m., at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends 5 to 7 p.m.
