Joseph R. Kohl 1932-2020
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Joseph R. Kohl, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at home.
Born Jan. 9, 1932, in Youngstown, he was the son of Andrew and Mary Hromjak Kohl.
Joe graduated from East High School and was the owner and founder of Ron-Ko Company in Fort Wayne, a window and siding company.
A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Post 47.
He is survived by sons, Joseph Kohl Jr., Robert Kohl, James Kohl, Richard (Jennifer Kage) Kohl and Thomas (Meg) Kohl; daughters, Cheryl Krieg and Holli Jo Armstrong; and the only remaining sibling, brother, Bill “Billy” Kohl, 93, of Mesa, Ariz.;10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and Shirley Kohl and Marcia Armstrong.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Mike, Steve, Andy Jr. and Eddie; and sisters, Mary Kohl, Martha Hallus, Eleanor Tomak, Kathy Finnamore and Helen Briya.
A memorial service will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at American Legion Post 47, 601 Reed Road Fort Wayne, IN 46815.
