Darrell W. Hassler 1960-2020

Darrell was born March 29, 1960, in Warren. He was a proud 1979 Hubbard High School graduate. He and his wife resided in Austintown.

His passions were dancing, woodcarving and walking his cat, ‘Whiskers.” He loved spending time with his wife of 22 years, Linda (Albright) Hassler, formerly of Lake Milton. Holidays were always treasured times spent with his sister, Deva, and her family, as well as with his sister-in law, Joanne, and the extended Albright family. Most recently, he was blessed to reconnect with his son, Jacob, creating new memories.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hassler of Austintown; his son, Jacob (Amanda) Bayus; his four grandsons, Jacob Jr., Anthony, Caden and Ethan, all of Hubbard; his sister, Deva (Robert) DuPonty of Canfield; their children, Rocco (Valerie) DuPonty and Summer (David) Black, also of Canfield; his niece, Jennifer Hassler of Poland; his nephew, David Hassler of Vienna; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dominic and Francesca DuPonty, Kameron DuPonty, Kaylee and Grace Black, and Maria Hassler.

Darrell was preceded in death by his son, Mark Anthony Hassler; his father, Paul C. Hassler Sr.; his mother, Ruth E. (Garrett) Hassler; his brother, Paul C. “P.C.” Hassler Jr.; and his sister, Debra L. (Hassler) Newsome.

Cremation has been entrusted to Oak Meadow Cremation Services, per Darrell’s wishes. A private ceremony will be held at a future date at Brookfield Cemetery.
