Bedonna Weiss Perry 1956-2020

MONTGOMERY, N.J. — Bedonna Weiss Perry, Ph.D., 63, of Montgomery and Beverly Hills, Calif., died May 29, 2020, after a 14-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Bedonna was born in New Orleans, La., and grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, where her father, Sanford Weiss, MD, was Chief of Radiology at Youngstown Hospital Association, and her mother, Blanche Weiss, was an award-winning artist. Bedonna graduated from Georgetown University and received her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the Ohio State University. She published numerous papers and chapters on childhood testing, particularly in Downs children and worked at the Educational Testing Service in Princeton and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She later was employed as a psychologist in her husband’s medical practice.

Bedonna was a devoted mother, mastering her children’s fields of expertise along with them. She enjoyed world travel, gardening and politics, and had a particular fondness for the Cleveland Indians.

Bedonna is survived by her parents; her husband of 35 years, plastic surgeon Dr. Arthur Perry; filmmaker son, Benjamin Edward; daughter, Meredith Ellen, founder of uBeam and now CEO of Elemind Technologies; and private investigator daughter, Julia Rachel. She is also survived by her brother, Bradley Weiss, attorney at the Pentagon; brother, ophthalmologist Dr. Ronald Weiss; and her two basset hounds and her beloved pig, Albert.

Bedonna’s funeral was held at the Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, N.J.
