Karen J. Hollabaugh 1955-2020

CANFIELD — Karen Jean Nolfi Hollabaugh, 64, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

Karen was born Aug. 10, 1955, in Youngstown, the daughter of Peter and Nancy Famularo Nolfi.

Karen graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School as a proud cheerleader and with friends she loved and cherished through her entire life.

She was the heart and soul of her family as a loving wife, mother of four boys, and somehow managed to make a career at Macy’s. She loved her Macy’s family very much.

She was an active member of St. Luke Parish with a deep and strong faith that strengthened her entire family. Her prayer group and Bible study gave her so much joy.

No title brought her more happiness than Nonni to her grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart, spoiled them, and devoted her life to caring for them and being a part of their lives. She loved to travel to see her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Karen will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, Joseph Michael Hollabaugh Sr., whom she married in 1976; her four sons, Joseph M. (Jennifer) Hollabaugh Jr., Michael P. (Erika) Hollabaugh, David J. Hollabaugh and Daniel A. (Veronica) Hollabaugh; five grandchildren, Brayden, Joey, Emma, Dakota and Leo; brother, Bob Nolfi and sister-in-law, JoAnn; and so many extended family members.

Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Peter “PJ” Nolfi Jr.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Rev. Leo Wehrlin at St. Luke Church. All of her immediate family were able to gather together and say goodbye.

Due to the current conditions, a public celebration of Karen’s life will take place at a future date, and the family hopes to announce details soon.

Arrangements were entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman. Family and friends who were not able to pay their respects because of the current pandemic are encouraged to offer prayers for the family and support via phone call, text, email or may visit the Book of Memories at www.rossifunerals.com to view this tribute and send condolences to Karen’s family. We hope to see you at the Celebration of Life.
