Lucille Ricci 1927-2019

HOWLAND — Lucille Ricci, 92, passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2019.

Lucille was born in Youngstown Oct. 27, 1927, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony James.

She was a graduate of The Rayen School. She was co-owner with her husband, Anthony Ricci Sr., of Ricci Studio of Photography in Liberty Township, which they founded in 1950 and operated for more than 60 years.

She married Anthony Sr. Nov. 23, 1946, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, where they were actively involved their entire 67-year marriage.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world and Lucille loved cooking and baking for large family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the Christmas Eve feast. She adored all children and dedicated much of her time volunteering for organizations to help others, especially the Angels of Easter Seals, Junior Guild of St. Elizabeth hospital and the Youngstown Symphony Society. She was very involved in all their activities, especially the Magic of an Angel’s Christmas and the writing of the first Angels of Easter Seals Cookbooks.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (James) Cordek of Aurora and Phyllis (Dr. Anthony) Schiavone of Howland; son Anthony (Vicki) Ricci of Boardman; five grandchildren, Gregory Cordek, Anne (David) Schmitt, Sara (Robert III) Schumaker, Christine (Justin) Gresko and Maribeth (Michael) Perry; six great-grandchildren, Daniel Schmitt, Andrew Schmitt, Lilly Schumaker, Abby Schumaker, Gianna Gresko and Nicholas Gresko; her brother, Dominic James of Toledo; and many nieces and nephews.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Anthony; her parents; and her sister, Beatrice Schiavone.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown.

Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Schiavone Funeral Home, Youngstown, and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
