Police activity reported Oct. 15-Nov. 19:

Nov. 19, 10:20 a.m. — Shooting reported at 424 Idaho Ave. after a man at a home accidentally shot himself in the chest. Fire and paramedic crews arrived at the scene and transported the man to the hospital. Other family members arrived at the scene since there was a 3-year-old juvenile inside the house at time of shooting. Police spoke to family members about the man.

Nov, 13, 9:13 a.m. — Police checked on the welfare of a resident at Brianna Place off Stull Avenue after concerns from a family member of the man being suicidal. Police were able to get into the apartment and found the man safe.

Nov. 9, 12:03 a.m. — Man at 418 Idaho Ave. reported that someone had changed the locks to his residence while he was out of town. He told police an ex-girlfriend who owned the home had told him he could stay there for an undisclosed amount of time. The man said some of his property is inside the house.

Nov. 7, 9:42 a.m. — Disturbance reported at 1075 Park Ave. after family members were concerned with the well-being of a man who lived there.

Nov. 4, 1:45 p.m. — Stalking complaint reported after a woman came to the police department and told police she left her residence in Youngstown for fear for her safety and had tried to get her property back from the location. She told police she has been receiving threatening and intimidating phone calls and text messages from two men and a woman with pictures of people with firearms.

Oct. 28, 11:15 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at 420 Lawrence Ave. after a woman said a man came to her home following an argument the previous day and wanted him to leave.

Oct. 16, 8:47 a.m. — A female resident of Earl Street came to the police department to report receiving a disturbing message on Instagram from a man making threats to her. The woman told police she blocked the man on Instagram.

Oct. 15, 11;20 a.m. — Girard Municipal Court staff contacted the police department and told police they had just received a call from a woman about another woman who had just left municipal court and told her she was planning to return to the court with a firearm to shoot her husband who was there. The woman who received the call came to the police station, but had not received any other call from the woman.
