Trumbull fair features fish from around the world

BAZETTA — The Trumbull County Fair has had its share of cows, horses, rabbits, pigs, goats and sheep, but for the 180th fair, there also are fish from all seven continents showcased in an aquarium display. Ex-Poland councilman Sam Moffie lends help to library committee trying to save Poland branch

POLAND — Former Poland Village Councilman Sam Moffie is joining in the fight to save the Poland branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County by gathering information through the Freedom of Information Act. “The Poland Save Our Library Campaign is the greatest grassroots effort I have ever witnessed in my lifetime,” Moffie said. “This was my contribution to help their efforts.” Moffie is requesting a variety of items surrounding the relocation of the landmark Poland Library. Appeals court upholds order to reinstate fired officer

YOUNGSTOWN — The 7th District Court of Appeals upheld a Mahoning County Common Pleas Court judge’s decision requiring the city reinstate Brian Flynn, who was fired as a police lieutenant in December 2022 after being accused of dereliction of duty, with back pay and interest. Two injured in weekend shooting in Boardman

BOARDMAN — Police are still investigating a shooting that resulted in a car crash over the weekend. A Boardman Police Department report states that while no one was killed, two women were injured in the incident. Two young children who were also in the car at the time were not reported injured, although their condition was not explicitly stated.
