WHAT: Board of education meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Walter Baber, Kristin Fox, Joseph Fuline and Robert Noble

ABSENT: Ron Shives

The board:

● Approved the financial reports and investments for the month of May.

● Approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Future Plans for career counseling services.

● Approved the replacement of the Struthers Elementary School roof using the contract that was bid through the Ohio Schools Council at a cost of $95,368.06.

● Approved the insurance renewal-Commercial Package and Cyber through The Chase Agency/Ohio School Plan for a total cost of $140,339.

● Approved the three-year license and service term price quote from Amplify CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) in the amount of $113,607.

● Approved the alternate learning program agreement with Community Behavior Consulting, LLC to provide the district assistance with the development of the ETR and IEP for students. The placement services fee per student is $96,000.

● Approved a service agreement with Mahoning Valley Community School.

● Approved a contract with the Poland Local Schools for the 2026-27 school year for shared services of an English Language Learner teacher.

● Approved a five-year copier lease agreement proposal with Ohio Business Machines at the monthly lease cost of $4,898.32.

●Approved the quoted estimate from H & I Striping in the amount of $33,650 for sealing, crack filling and striping at the elementary, middle and high schools.

●Accepted a donation of $1,500 from Team Cure Sports LLC to be split between the high school boys and girls basketball programs.

●Approved a transfer from the General Fund (001) to the Termination of Benefits – Severance Fund in the amount of $150,000.

● Accepted the following resignations: Amy Sainato, 4th-grade teacher at the elementary school; Brenna Kline, speech pathologist; and Jacob McDivitt, 8th grade math teacher at the middle school.
