Grant application for school supplies now open
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN — The Anthony Spano Foundation has opened the application process for its School Supplies Fund that will give away free school supplies to schools and students throughout Mahoning County.
Mahoning County schools and school districts are encouraged to apply now, with the deadline being Thursday. Following the application period, a committee will review all submissions and notify recipients. Supplies will be distributed to selected schools in August/September, ahead of the upcoming school year.
“The School Supplies Fund exists because we believe every student in our community deserves to start the school year ready to learn,” said a spokesperson for the Anthony Spano Foundation. “We are opening our doors to Mahoning County schools right now and we want to hear from you in regard to a grant we received.”
Supplies available through the School Supplies Fund include a variety of items for students and teachers. This project was made possible and funded by the Mahoning County Commissioners.
The School Supplies Fund is open exclusively to school districts located within Mahoning County and only to students in grades K-12. Applications are available online at https://spanofoundation.org/grants-scholarships/. For questions, email Info@SpanoFoundation.org or call 234-254-2831. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
