Trumbull Career & Technical Center ratifies contract
CHAMPION — The Trumbull Career & Technical Center board has approved a new three-year contract with the TCTC Education Association.
Treasurer Cody Holecko said the new three-year agreement — effective June 29, 2026 to June 28, 2029 — will include pay increases of 3.5% the first year, 3.25% the second year and 3% the third year.
Holecko said the new contract will cost the district approximately $900,000 for the raises over three years.
He said the raises for the more than 130 employees represented by the union are in line with what the career center has given in the past.
Superintendent Jason Gray said the senior class is scheduled to finish the year on Monday with the senior completion ceremony to take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 7 17 Credit Union Field at Eastwood in Niles. A rain date, if needed, will be at 6:30 p.m. May 19.
With the school year ending for grades 9-11 on May 20, the center is planning for summer programs to be offered for students entering grades 7-9. A career camp will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 1 with engineering, culinary arts, equestrian studies, interactive multimedia, cosmetology and babysitting boot camp.
Students entering grades 7 to 9 are invited to join for one or two days of hands-on activities, interactive experiences and a chance to explore a variety of career pathways.
A manufacturing camp will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 8 to 12 with classes in welding and engineering.
The camp’s partners include SparkForce, the FMA Foundation and the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition. The deadline to register is May 29 and students can do so by contacting Rachel Gensburg at rachel.gensburg@tctchome.com.
Several staff members were approved to lead the summer career exploration enrichment program for one week at the center. Participating teachers will receive a $200 stipend for one day of camp and lesson planning and a $400 stipend for two days of camp and lesson planning. For the SparkForce camp, teachers will be paid a $1,250 stipend.
In other business, the board:
• Hired Lindsay Coulter as a pharmacy technician program director for the high school Health Science Academy at $750 for the 2026-27 year.
• Hired Mark Albani as a testing administrator for the adult education department at $28 per hour and Amanda Keller as ASPIRE office and data manager for the adult education department.
