Storm-related closings, adjustments for Monday

In addition to the closing of virtually all schools in the region, other storm adjustments for Monday include:

WRTA: Due to inclement weather and hazardous driving conditions, Western Reserve Transit Authority will be closed Monday, and no services will operate. WRTA anticipates resuming service Tuesday, pending weather and road conditions.

COUNTY GOVERNMENT: The Mahoning County Emergency Management Agency announced that all county offices and courts will be closed on Monday due to hazardous winter weather conditions. All nonessential county services are suspended for the duration of the day. Emergency services, law enforcement, and road department crews will remain fully operational to address weather-related issues and maintain public safety.

DIOCESE: Diocesan Central Services Office will be closed Monday.

Struthers City Hall and Struthers Municipal Court will be closed Monday

SUPERMARKETS: Ian Donovan, a Giant Eagle spokesman, said “Giant Eagle is extremely appreciative of all our team members who helped ensure our communities received the grocery staples they needed to feed themselves and their families this past week. All Giant Eagle locations opened for business as scheduled Sunday and all have seen small, but steady flows of customers coming in to pick up needed items.”

GARBAGE: Youngstown city officials announced that due to the impact of the winter storm on local landfill operations, garbage collection on Monday will be delayed until Tuesday. As a result, all garbage collection this week will operate on one-day-behind schedule.

To avoid being missed, please place trash at curb the evening before your scheduled pickup day.
