Santucci files for reelection to Ohio House for 3rd term
WARREN – State Rep. Nick Santucci, R-Niles, filed nominating petitions seeking his third two-year term in the Ohio House representing a district that includes most of Trumbull County.
Santucci said: “I am incredibly proud to serve Trumbull County and the Lake-to-River region. This work is about delivering real results — investing in our communities, strengthening our workforce, supporting local businesses and making sure our region has a strong voice at the Statehouse. I’m grateful for the trust placed in me and excited to continue fighting for the people who call the region home.”
Santucci has represented the 64th Ohio House District for the past three years.
The district includes Warren, Howland, Niles, Weathersfield, Bristol, Champion, Farmington, West Farmington, Leavittsburg, Newton, Newton Falls, Lordstown and Warren Township.
Santucci won his first term in the November 2022 election by 1.8% when the district lines were different and favored Democrats by nearly 10%. After the 2023 state legislative redistricting, the 64th became one of the few toss-up House districts in the state. But Santucci won it by 12.4%.
In January 2025, Santucci was selected as one of four majority whips in the Republican-controlled House. The leadership role has Santucci responsible for monitoring and securing Republican votes for legislation on the House floor.
Santucci is the first representative from Trumbull County to serve in Ohio House leadership since 1976.
Santucci said he will continue to work on legislation that focuses on economic development, workforce readiness and community involvement.
“When our region works together, we win,” Santucci said. “By building strong partnerships with our local leaders and fellow state representatives, we’ve shown that Lake-to-River can deliver results and lead the way forward.”
