Boardman

PRESENT: Vickie Davis, John Fryda, John Landers, Candace Rivera and Tom Varley

The board:

● Approved the following appointments: Jasmine Boyd, cleaning staff at West Boulevard Elementary School, $14,021.41; Gia DiMaiolo, cafeteria server at Stadium Drive Elementary School, $4,822.21; Lorri Evanchuck, cafeteria server at Boardman High School, $4,822.21; Gina Hammerton, head cheerleading coach at the high school, $2,959.32; and volunteer high school wrestling coach Christopher Anderson.

● Approved Helen Garrett, Carter Mascola and Aidan Miller as substitutes.

● Approved a leave of absence for Samantha Huston, Boardman High School science teacher, on May 11.

● Approved the transfer of Renee Haus from a general office secretary at Boardman High School to a general office secretary. The position now combines the guidance secretary and the records secretary positions at the high school.

● Approved the following resignations: Gary Baker, Boardman High School custodian; Madalena “Maggie” Bonilla, Boardman High School cafeteria server; and Jamie Brown, Boardman Center Intermediate School teacher aide.

● Approved a stipend of $4,000 for Spartan Online Academy (SOA) Michelle Masucci.

● Approved the following donations: $837.18 from True North’s “The Giving Pump” to the superintendent fund; $1,100 from Wanda Vaught to the Angel Fund at Boardman Center Intermediate School; $500 from Hynes Industries for Shop with a Cop; and a Hiro 65-inch 4k Smart TV flat screen LED television, with a one-year protection plan and TV mount valued at $327.85 for the transportation department.

● Approved the following field trips: high school wrestling team to travel to Cuyahoga Heights High School for a tournament; and to Hudson High School, also for a wrestling tournament.

● Recognized that John Fryda, who served for eight years, is stepping down from his position.
