YOUNGSTOWN — A man was shot in the back while he was driving a car at 11:38 p.m. Thursday at East Judson Avenue and Rush Boulevard, according to Youngstown police.

Officers responded to the neighborhood for a ShotSpotter notification, which alerts Youngstown police to gunfire on the South Side.

Multiple 911 callers also reported gunfire, according to a Youngstown police report.

They found a car that had crashed and then found the victim and another man who was in the car when the driver was shot.

Neither man has cooperated with police, Capt. Jason Simon of the detective division of the Youngstown Police Department said.
