YOUNGSTOWN — Matthew C. Brocker, of Tippecanoe Road in Canfield, was indicted Thursday on two counts of felonious assault and one count of vehicular assault in a March 3 crash at U.S. Route 224 and Southern Boulevard in Boardman that badly injured another driver.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Canfield reported that Brocker was driving a 2024 Toyota Camry when witnesses said Brocker raced up at high speed behind a vehicle driven by Anthony Viviano, 54, of New Castle, Pa., rear-ending Viviano’s vehicle.

Viviano suffered serious injuries. The patrol reported that Brocker tried to flee after overturning his own vehicle, but police quickly caught up to him.

A patrol report stated that the impact of the crash forced Viviano off the right side of the road, where he struck a curb and came to a rest on the west side of Southern Boulevard. After the impact with Viviano’s car, Brocker’s car traveled westbound and flipped over, then continued to slide before striking a utility pole near Marinthana Avenue. Brocker also was taken to the hospital.

Others indicated Thursday were:

● Braylon Barnes, 33, Covington Street, harassment with a bodily substance.

● Edward A. Dobran III, 35, Shields Road, Boardman, trespass into a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present and misdemeanor criminal damaging or endangering.

● Jocelyn Fisher, 37, Cuyahoga Falls, breaking and entering and theft.

● Brandon J. Crespo, 28, Mahoning County jail, 10 counts of breaking and entering.

● Serena H. Edgerton, 22, West Calla Road, Canfield, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them (OVI).

● Antwan Teemer, 38, homeless, breaking and entering.

● Charles T. Lewis, 59, Shehy Street, receiving stolen property.

● Matthew W. Marzula, 43, Sheridan Road, strangulation and trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present.

● Michael D. Barnhart, 71, state Route 7, New Waterford, OVI.

● Charles C. Cox IV, no age given, Balsam Court, theft and identity fraud.

● Carisma M. Hall, 20, South Raccoon Road, Austintown, theft and identity fraud.

● Jeffrey J. Carr, 50, Shining Tree Lane, Salem, aggravated drug possession and OVI.

● Donteill M. Grant Jr., 26, Liberty Road, Girard, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and cocaine possession.

● Daveon D. Williams, 21, Kirk Road, tampering with evidence and aggravated drug possession.

● Phillip Fish, 40, Northeast Ohio Correctional Center, criminal mischief.

● James A. Johnson Jr., 22, Northeast Ohio Correctional Center, criminal mischief.

● Derek E. Forese, 35, Country Club Road, Grove City, Pa., fentanyl related compound possession.
