WEATHERSFIELD — A 16-year-old girl was injured in a shooting early Tuesday at a mobile home park in Weathersfield and a teenage suspect is in custody, police said.

Weathersfield police responded to a shooting report at 3:50 a.m. in the 3000 block of Judyth Street in the Brentwood Manor Trailer Park, according to police Capt. Kris Hodge. Officers found the teenage victim inside the residence, and she was taken to a local hospital in critical, but stable, condition, Hodge stated in a news release.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center, police said. Police did not release additional details because of the ongoing investigation.

Dispatchers had earlier confirmed a police presence at the scene, but provided no further information. The mobile home park is located off DeForest Road SE, west of North Main Street.
