Warren man indicted in Austintown stabbing

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a Warren man in connection to an April 4 incident that involved a stabbing at Compass West Apartments in Austintown.

Charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence is Joseph D. Stevens Jr., 22, of Mazda Avenue NE.

An Austintown police report states a man showed up at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital emergency room with stab wounds and told police he was stabbed at the apartment complex. Police went to the complex to investigate and saw blood on the doorway at 1066 Compass West and followed a trail of blood to an apartment. The report states an officer reviewed security camera video, confirming the attack occurred there.

When police went to the hospital to speak with the victim’s girlfriend, they found a car with blood on the passenger seat and processed it for evidence, according to the report.

Others indicted Thursday were:

● Cametrius J. Adams, 30, St. Louis Avenue, being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated drug possession with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case, fentanyl-related compound possession with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

● Nicholas Duecaster, 28, Valerie Drive, cocaine possession with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case.

● Michael M. Carruthers, 18, North Kimberly Avenue, Austintown, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

● Garrett C. Craig, 31, Lewiston, failure to comply with the order of a police officer, cocaine possession and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

● Justin S. Riley, 27, Mahoning County jail, aggravated drug possession, fentanyl-related compound possession and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

● Jay R. Weston, 38, East Western Reserve Road, Poland, receiving stolen property, two counts of misuse of credit cards and one count of receiving stolen property.

● Whitney D. Lucero, 33, Mary Lane, Mineral Ridge, corrupting another with drugs.

● Laytton M. Shepherd, 31, Carnegie Avenue, Austintown, fentanyl-related compound possession, aggravated drug possession, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and domestic violence.

● Taylor E. Parker, 29, Highland Avenue SW, Warren, fentanyl-related compound possession, cocaine possession and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

● James E. Bevly Jr., 43, Mahoning County jail, fentanyl-related compound possession, cocaine possession and criminal trespass.

● Julie M. McGlothlin, 52, West South Range Road, Salem, breaking and entering, misdemeanor theft and criminal damaging or endangering.

● Anthony L. McGlothlin, 55, West South Range Road, Salem, two counts each of breaking and entering, possessing criminal tools, misdemeanor theft and criminal damaging or endangering.

● Dawaylon M. Wilkerson, 29, Alameda Avenue, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

● Tristan K. Cwynar, 28, Delaware Avenue, failure to verify address.

● Kenneth J. Smart, 47, Garfield Street, Struthers, failure to register.

● Charlotte G. Garver, 45, state Route 14, North Benton, two counts of escape.

● Naquan S. Traylor, 30, Mahoning County jail, eight counts of harassment with a bodily substance and one count of obstructing official business.

● Harold F. Pearce, 69, Olivette Court, cocaine possession.

● Chemere Williams, 44, Alameda Avenue, being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of control of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance.
