Raccoon tests positive for rabies

YOUNGSTOWN – A raccoon in the city tested positive for rabies, according to the Youngstown City Health District.

The raccoon was located near Volney Rogers Field, close to the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and East Glacier Drive.

It’s the first rabies detection in 2024 in Mahoning County.
