HUBBARD — The Hubbard Youth Coalition will have a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hubbard Student Wellness Center 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the former Roosevelt Elementary School, 110 Orchard Ave.

The schedule of events for the groundbreaking ceremony is an open house with tours of the facility and viewing 3D renderings of the proposed wellness center, 9 to 11 a.m.; question and answer session, construction plans, fundraising efforts, operational details and eligibility for facility usage, 11 to 11:45 a.m.; and groundbreaking 11:45 a.m. to noon.

The HYC has been fundraising for the wellness center over the past three years and has raised more than $140,000, with an additional $50,000 to $70,000 in materials and labor pledged.
