County judge earns accolades for service

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert Rusu was recognized recently for his service as treasurer the past two years of the Ohio Association of Probate Judges. He was given the Meritorious Service Award.

The members of the association also voted Rusu vice president of the organization for the next two years. Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy administered the oath of office for Rusu at the conference.

The activities took place at the association’s Ohio Judicial Conference attended by 140 probate, juvenile and domestic relations judges from across Ohio. The conference is where the judges receive their required continuing legal education.

The association is a nonprofit organization responsible for the educational and business meetings of Ohio probate judges, which promotes collegiality allowing for the sharing of ideas and experiences concerning the operation of probate courts. The association also provides training and education of court employees, court investigators and deputy clerks in Ohio.
