AKRON — A Green Township, Mahoning County, woman faces a charge of murder connected to the April 2016 death of her 2-year-old son in Akron.

Akron Municipal Court records show that Amanda Jo Bunner, of 12751 Warren-Salem Road, was arraigned on the charge Wednesday.

She is being held at an Akron jail pending the posting of a $1 million bond.

The charge is related to the death of the toddler April 13, 2016, at a home on Palm Avenue in Akron, the records show.

The deceased was Jaxon Ross Bunner, who died of a subdural hemmorrhage with traumatic brain swelling and herniation, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s office. The death was ruled a homicide.

Another hearing is set for May 24 at the Akron court, pending any action by a grand jury.
