Housekeeper reports threat
Staff report
LIBERTY — A Youngstown man on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing after a housekeeper at a Liberty motel said she was threatened with a gun.
Jawan E. Johnson, 42, of Liberty Road, appeared before Girard Municipal Judge Jeffrey Adler, who set bond at $7,500 with a stipulation that Johnson be under electronically monitored house arrest if he makes bond.
Johnson via video hookup from the jail pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Adler set a preliminary hearing date of Dec. 28.
Liberty police were called to the Motel 6 on Belmont Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday when a 911 dispatcher said a housekeeper reported she was threatened with being shot.
Two men left in a white SUV, according to the report, and Johnson was arrested at the nearby Speedway gas station.
