Reason for man’s death on Gypsy Lane Sunday ‘not clear’

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department is investigating a possible homicide that occurred at a home in the first block of Gypsy Lane in Youngstown late Sunday.

Reggie Allen Jr., 45, was found dead with at least one stab wound when first responders went to the home because of an 11:02 p.m. Sunday 911 call for a stabbing.

Allen was on the floor of the home dead, with another man standing by the door when first responders arrived. The man by the door and at least one other person were questioned. No one has been charged.

Detective Michael Cox of the Youngstown Police Department said Monday it is “not clear” yet whether the death was a homicide or not. The case is being investigated as a homicide until the investigation is completed by detectives and the coroner’s office.

Allen had been living at the residence, Cox said.

The residence is associated with a transportation business and is located near Logan Way on the North Side.
