Woman pleads guilty to offenses at motel
YOUNGSTOWN — Tabrasia M. Gray, 22, has pleaded guilty to four charges related to an incident involving a gun at a Boardman motel last March.
Gray pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence with a gun specification, felony assault and intimidation.
She also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of harassment with a bodily substance related to spitting on a jailer at the Mahoning County jail after she was arrested.
Prosecutors are recommending that she get one year and nine months in prison with credit for about nine months already served in the jail awaiting trial. Prosecutors also will not oppose Gray getting judicial release, which involves Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court possibly allowing Gray to leave prison early.
Gray will be sentenced in March.
Boardman police say they encountered a man behind a closed business on Market Street in Boardman early March 9. The man said he was on the way to the store and needed to hurry to get back to his girlfriend at the Town and Country Motel, also on Market Street.
Officers smelled marijuana and found baggies of marijuana, pills and a white powder on the man.
Boardman officers went to the motel, and Gray answered the door partially dressed. Police said they arrested her when they discovered she was trying to conceal a loaded gun between her legs as she walked to the bathroom. Officers also found drug paraphernalia and pills in the motel room. The man and Gray were uncooperative with officers, police said. Gray kicked and struck officers, police said.
