Republican to challenge DeWine
Joe Blystone, who was born in East Liverpool, said he is going to challenge Mike DeWine in next year’s gubernatorial primary.
Blystone, who is running for elected office for the first time, said he is a constitutional Republican who wants to “restore integrity to the leadership of Ohio” and return the “freedoms the overreaching government has taken away.”
Blystone owns Blystone Farms, which is a farm and restaurant in Canal Winchester. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Blystone has permitted his employees and restaurant patrons not to wear face masks.
DeWine, elected in 2018, is seeking re-election next year.
