Vaccine distributions set for third week in Trumbull

WARREN — As Trumbull County prepares for its third week of vaccine distribution starting on Monday, several area Walgreens pharmacies have been added to the list of distribution locations.

The Ohio Department of Health announced this week that some Walgreens and CVS pharmacies also will be receiving vaccine to be administered to age eligible Phase 1B recipients over the next two weeks.

Individuals will need to contact pharmacy locations directly to find out about their registration processes.

Local Walgreens Pharmacy locations scheduled to receive the vaccine are: 600 S. Mecca St., Cortland; 15 S. Main St., Hubbard; 5027 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles; 2249 Youngstown Warren Road Niles; 804 W. Market St., Warren; 3390 Elm Road NE, Warren. CVS Pharmacy at 3933 Parkman Road NW, Warren, is the only location receiving the vaccine at this time.

Information about other vaccine providers in Trumbull County for the Tier 1B, week 3 clinics, beginning Monday is available at https://vaccine.coronavirus.ohio.gov.

Giant Eagle Pharmacy locations a 48 Vienna Ave., Niles; 2061 Elm Road, Warren; 7229 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield; 4700 Belmont Ave., Liberty; 8202 E. Market St., Warren; and 2700 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, are providing the vaccine.

Giant Eagle has launched an online vaccine appointment scheduling tool. To register at any of the Giant Eagle pharmacies go to www.gianteagle.com/covid. Individuals without internet access also may call the pharmacy of choice and they will help them, but the preferred method is the web registration tool.

Nonpharmacy locations that require preregistration for a COVID-19 vaccine include:

• Howland Flu Clinic (Mercy Health), 932 Niles Cortland Road NE, 866-624-0366 or www.mercy.com;

• Trumbull Regional Medical Center, 1350 E. Market St., Warren, 330-841-9458 or www.trumbullregional.org;

• Trumbull County Combined Health District (drive-thru clinics will be held at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds), 899 Everett Hull Road, Cortland, 330-675-7844 or www.tcchd.org;

The Trumbull County Combined Health District has launched an online vaccine registration tool. To register online, go to www.tcchd.org. Individuals without internet access may call the health district. Officials said people do not need to register online and via telephone.

EXPECTED AMOUNTS

Officials said 1,800 total aggregate doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for the week of Feb. 1-7 are expected in Trumbull County. Giant Eagle pharmacies will receive 600 doses, with each of the six county pharmacies receiving 100 doses; St. Joseph Warren Hospital will get 100 doses; Trumbull Regional Medical Center, 200 doses; Trumbull County Combined Health District, 800 doses; and Warren City Health Department, 100 doses.

Officials noted those registering for vaccinations must understand that all vaccinations in Trumbull County are by registration and appointment only. Those attending vaccination clinics are asked to have been registered with an appointment prior to arrival.

Officials said in excess of 7,000 residents have registered in the Trumbull County Combined Health District’s COVID-19 vaccination registration portal. People who have registered and have not yet been contacted by the agency are asked to be patient and be assured that if all of the required information was left, you will be contacted, but it could take up to several weeks from the time you registered before you receive a call, depending upon the amount of vaccine received. Anyone wishing to be registered at a specific location, or register with multiple providers, must contact and register with those providers individually.
