AUSTINTOWN — Two people were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening in an 11:52 p.m. Tuesday crash involving a sport utility vehicle that hit the back of a semi tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 just west of state Route 46.

The two people injured were in the SUV, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Both vehicles were eastbound. It took about 30 minutes to remove the vehicles from one lane of the highway. Two other open eastbound lanes remained available for traffic, a highway patrol official said.
