Statewide coronavirus cases rose to 137,405 on Sunday. Locally, there were no deaths.

The additional cases statewide marked an increase of 837, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

Four deaths also were reported for a total of 4,415. There were also 30 hospitalizations reported Sunday for a total of 14,314.

Mahoning County added three cases for a total of 2,945 with 466 hospitalizations and 274 deaths.

Two new cases were reported in Columbiana County for a total of 1,895. There have been 214 hospitalizations and 71 deaths.

Trumbull County reported seven new cases for a total of 1,813. There have been 334 hospitalizations and 127 deaths.

Sunday’s numbers are below the state’s 21-day daily average. The health department reported over the last 21 days, the state’s daily average for cases is 1,076; for deaths, it is 21, and for hospitalizations, it is 72.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine began his last briefing on the COVID-19 fight last week by warning that flu season is coming and that, along with COVID-19, could be extremely dangerous. He received his vaccine alongside first lady Fran DeWine during the briefing.

DeWine said the latest Ohio Public Health Advisory system map show six counties at Level 3. More counties are going to Levels 1 and 2, he said.

DeWine is expected to hold his next news conference Tuesday afternoon.
