Conviction of former Campbell chief sealed

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County Common Pleas judge has sealed the conviction of former Campbell police Chief Drew W. Rauzan for his unauthorized use of a law-enforcment-only database while he was chief.

Rauzan, 45, of Campbell, was sentenced to one year of probation in August 2017 for the misdemeanor offense. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and surrender his peace officer certificate.

His probation ended last August, and Dan Kasaris, an assistant Ohio attorney general, who handled the case as special prosecutor, did not object to the sealing of Rauzan’s conviction.

Judge Anthony Donofrio approved the sealing of his record Tuesday.

Rauzan, who has also been a lawyer since 2013, received a six-month suspension of his law license earlier this month because of the conviction and other misconduct as a lawyer.
